Vision and Mission Statements
Vision
South Ocala focuses on all aspects of a child’s education, including academic growth, extracurricular pursuits, emotional intelligence and resilience to build well-rounded global leaders.
Mission
The South Ocala Elementary family is committed to a) educating all students to the highest levels of academic achievement, b) enabling students to reach and expand their potential, and c) preparing students to become productive, responsible, ethical, creative and compassionate members of society. Together, we will create a nurturing school culture that fosters rigorous instruction that is individualized to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
Positive Behavior Support
South Ocala Elementary School is a Positive Behavior Support School. We recognize and celebrate behaviors that are conducive to learning and school safety. At SOE, I will succeed! Watch me… Be Safe! Be Outstanding! Be Engaged! For demonstrating these behaviors, students earn Buzz Bucks to purchase special items and admission to special events. If a child is unable to meet these expectations or follow school rules, South Ocala Elementary uses progressive discipline in accordance with the Marion County Code of Student Conduct. Parents and staff must work together to teach children to respect authority, the rights of others, and private or public property.
Family, Parent, and Community Engagement
There are always opportunity for our families and parents to be engaged in the work at SOE! The School Advisory Council and Parent Teacher Organization play a critical role in decision-making and guiding the direction of the school. Once enrolled at South Ocala Elementary, you will receive frequent communication via newsletters, Family Access, DoJo, Skylert phone calls, and Twitter.
We are proud to have Neighborhood Storage as our business partner!
